The Grand Care Alliance

Supporting Colorado’s Seniors Raising the Next Generation

Across Colorado, thousands of seniors have stepped up to raise their grandchildren — often unexpectedly, and often without the financial or emotional support they need. The Grand Care Alliance was created to stand beside these incredible caregivers and ensure that no grandfamily has to navigate this journey alone.

What We Provide

Through this program, we help support seniors raising grandchildren by offering:

  • Tuition Assistance – Helping cover school-related costs so children can learn, grow, and thrive.

  • Recreational & Activity Fees – Ensuring kids can participate in sports, clubs, arts, and community programs without financial barriers.

  • Family Support & Counseling – Through our trusted partners, families receive guidance, emotional support, and resources tailored to the unique challenges grandfamilies face.

Why We Need You in 2026

As we move into 2026, the need for this program continues to grow — and so does our commitment. To fully launch and sustain the Grand Care Alliance statewide, we need your help. Your support allows us to expand services, reach more families, and provide stability for seniors who have taken on the responsibility of raising the next generation.

Together, we can ensure that Colorado’s grandfamilies have the resources, dignity, and support they deserve.

Rocky Mountain PBS Story Highlighting Bright Leaf’s Impact on Seniors Living on Fixed Incomes

Rocky Mountain PBS recently featured Bright Leaf in a powerful story showcasing how the organization is stepping in to help Colorado seniors who are struggling to afford critical home repairs on fixed incomes. The segment follows the experience of Lori Kratzer, a 65‑year‑old Arvada resident whose home was severely damaged after an overflowing toilet flooded her floors. Living on a limited income, she had no way to pay for the repairs herself.

At Bright Leaf Seniors, we proudly stand beside the grandparents who are stepping up to raise the next generation. Across Colorado, more and more seniors are becoming full‑time caregivers to their grandchildren—often unexpectedly, and often without the resources they need. These grandparents are doing everything they can to keep their families together, but the challenges can be overwhelming.

That’s where Bright Leaf comes in.

We provide free minor home repairs, food assistance, and family support to help stabilize these households. When a grandparent is supported, a child gains the safety, consistency, and love they need to grow. And when a child thrives, our entire community becomes stronger.

Every day, we see the strength of these grandfamilies—the resilience, the sacrifice, the unconditional love. And we’re committed to making sure they never have to carry the load alone.

If you believe in supporting both our seniors and the children they’re raising, we invite you to volunteer, donate, or simply help spread the word. Together, we can lift up the families who hold our community together.

“Family is not defined by our genes, but by the love we give and receive.”
